## Description
We were promised flying cars. We got AI that writes emails and generates art. So what happened? And more importantly: what are we actually building, and who is it for? This month, we're welcoming Nathan Miller, a UConn graduate who designed his own major in human-computer interaction, ethical technology design, and digital well-being. Nathan has worked on social impact campaigns across economic development, healthcare, and political advocacy, and is currently returning to UConn for pre-med coursework ahead of medical school. He's thinking seriously about where AI and healthcare meet, and he's not pulling any punches. His talk asks a simple but urgent question: how do we build AI that actually serves people? What to expect: A talk that challenges how we think about AI's role in society Honest conversation about the gap between promise and impact Q&A and open discussion with the community Join us for networking starting at 5:30 PM. The program begins at 6:00 PM. Free to attend. Space is limited. As always, food and drink, engaging conversation, and incredible company will all be provided! Please be advised: Unfortunately, space is very limited at these community events and we can not always accept everyone we would like to. If you are not accepted to this event, please keep applying! We appreciate your application tremendously and we are looking forward to seeing you at a future event very soon! The AI Collective is a global non-profit building the human layer for the AI era. We unite 200,000+ leaders, builders, and stakeholders across 100+ forums worldwide to democratize the frontier, build trust, and coordinate how society navigates the rapid acceleration of technological progress.
